Final CPS Score
A CPS test, or Clicks Per Second test, is a tool that measures how quickly you can click your mouse button within a set timeframe. It calculates your clicking speed by dividing your total clicks by the number of seconds elapsed, giving you a precise CPS score that represents your clicking ability.
CPS testing originated from the Minecraft community, particularly the Kohi server, where players needed to measure their clicking speed for PvP combat. Today, CPS tests are used by gamers, competitive players, and anyone who wants to measure and improve their mouse clicking speed. Whether you play Minecraft, FPS games, or simply want to test your reflexes, a CPS test provides an objective measure of your clicking performance.
Our CPS test tool works seamlessly in any modern web browser without downloads or installations. Combined with our mouse tester for hardware diagnostics, you have a complete toolkit for evaluating your mouse performance and clicking ability.
Our CPS test uses high-precision timing to deliver accurate click speed measurements. Here's how it works:
Select from 8 time intervals (1s to 100s) and pick Classic or Endurance mode. Classic focuses on raw speed while Endurance tests sustained performance over longer durations.
Click anywhere inside the click zone. The timer starts instantly with your first click — no delay, no countdown. Every millisecond is counted from the moment you begin.
Watch your CPS update in real-time as you click. The sidebar shows total clicks, running CPS, max CPS, and your current mode. The live chart visualizes your speed throughout the test.
When time runs out, get your final CPS score, performance rank, and detailed analytics. View your performance trend across tests, mode comparisons, and complete test history.

Watch your clicks per second update instantly as you click. Our high-precision timer samples at 50ms intervals to ensure accurate, responsive CPS tracking throughout the entire test.
Test with 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 30, 60, or 100 second intervals. Short burst tests reveal your maximum speed, while longer tests measure consistency and endurance under sustained clicking.
Track your performance across sessions with trend charts, mode comparisons, per-test history logs, and all-time statistics including total tests, average CPS, and lifetime click counts.
Earn ranks from Turtle to Master based on your CPS score. Your personal best and complete test history are saved across sessions, so you can always see your progress.

The standard clicking method uses your index finger to press the mouse button naturally. This is the baseline technique most people use daily. While it's comfortable and sustainable for long sessions, it typically yields 4–7 CPS. Focus on consistent rhythm and minimal finger lift for the best results with regular clicking.
Jitter clicking involves tensing your arm and wrist muscles to create rapid vibrations that translate into fast clicks. Your index finger stays on the button while your whole hand shakes rapidly. This technique can achieve 9–14 CPS but requires practice and can cause fatigue. Take regular breaks to prevent strain.
Butterfly clicking uses two fingers alternating on the mouse button to create rapid successive clicks. Place your index and middle fingers on the button and alternate between them quickly. This technique can reach 12–20 CPS and is popular among Minecraft PvP players. Some gaming servers may detect this as double-clicking.
Drag clicking involves dragging your finger across the mouse button to generate multiple click registrations from the friction. This advanced technique can produce extremely high CPS scores of 20–100+, but it requires a mouse with a textured surface and specific switches. Not all mice support drag clicking, and many game servers consider it unfair.
See how your CPS score compares across different skill levels. Each rank represents a specific range of clicks per second.
| Rank | CPS Range | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Turtle | 0 – 3 | Very slow clicking speed. Try using a different clicking technique to improve. |
| Beginner | 3 – 5 | Casual clicking speed typical of everyday computer use. Room for improvement. |
| Average | 5 – 7 | Solid clicking speed for most gaming scenarios and daily tasks. |
| Fast | 7 – 10 | Above-average clicking speed. Effective for competitive gaming situations. |
| Pro | 10 – 14 | Advanced clicking speed using techniques like jitter or butterfly clicking. |
| Master | 14+ | Elite clicking speed. Only achievable with advanced techniques and practice. |
A quality gaming mouse with responsive switches (like Omron or Kailh) and a comfortable ergonomic design can significantly improve your CPS. Gaming mice have shorter actuation distances and higher polling rates, which means every click registers faster and more reliably.
Like any skill, clicking speed improves with regular practice. Set aside 5–10 minutes daily to practice your clicking technique. Start with longer test durations (10–30s) to build endurance, then switch to shorter bursts (1–5s) to push your peak CPS higher.
Your mouse grip affects clicking speed. Claw grip and fingertip grip often allow faster clicking than palm grip because they give your fingers more freedom of movement. Keep your wrist relaxed, your arm at a comfortable angle, and avoid tensing up — tension leads to fatigue.
Instead of switching between clicking techniques randomly, pick one and master it. Start with regular clicking to build a foundation, then progress to jitter clicking for higher CPS. Only move to butterfly or drag clicking once you're comfortable with the basics.
